This is a satellite image of the west coast of Africa. Vegetation is in the reddish area found to the lower part of the picture and the beige area toward the top is desert sand. Moving from the top right to the left is a dust storm blowing off of the coast over the Atlantic. Dust particles from these storms can sometimes be carried as far away as Brazil.
